A drip that will not stop

Weak Flow at One Tap? Try This Before You Call Us
The aerator is the little screen screwed into the end of the spout. It catches grit and scale, and when it blocks up the flow at that one tap drops off while the rest of the house runs fine. Clearing it takes about two minutes and needs no tools. We would rather you tried it first than paid us to do it.
Check it is only one tap
Run the others. If every tap in the house is weak, it is not the aerator and the guide below is the better place to start.
Unscrew the aerator
Counter-clockwise as you look up at it, which feels backwards to most people. It is usually only hand tight. If it resists, wrap it in a cloth before touching it with pliers.
Rinse it and put it back
Tap out the grit, rinse the mesh, and soak it in white vinegar if it is furred with scale. Refit it hand tight. Do not force it.
When to stop and call. If it will not turn, do not lean on it: snapping an aerator off inside the spout turns a two minute job into a fixture replacement. If the flow is still weak with the aerator out entirely, the blockage is further back and cleaning it will not help. And if every tap in the house is weak, this was never the problem. Why is my faucet dripping?

Should I repair or replace my faucet?
