Tankless Water Heater Repair Jacksonville NC | No Hot Water?
There’s nothing worse than jumping into the shower and getting hit with cold water.
If that’s happening in your home here in Jacksonville, your tankless water heater might be the problem.
I’m Justin Wilder, owner of Wild Water Plumbing and a U.S. Navy Veteran.
I’ve seen this issue a lot, and most of the time, the warning signs are there—you just have to know what to look for.
Here are some signs your tankless water heater might need a repair:
1. Hot Water Turns Cold Fast
If your water starts out hot and then suddenly goes cold mid-shower, that’s not normal.
Tankless water heaters are supposed to give you hot water the whole time.
You might have a clogged heat exchanger or a sensor that’s not working right.
2. You See an Error Code
Most tankless units have a little screen that shows error codes when something’s wrong.
If you see one, don’t ignore it.
It’s your water heater telling you it needs help. Whether it’s a venting issue or something with the gas line, it’s best to call in a pro—you don’t want to guess and make it worse.
3. Strange Noises
Your water heater should be quiet. If you’re hearing clicking, banging, or any weird sounds, something’s off.
It could be parts coming loose or a buildup of minerals inside the system.
Either way, it’s not something to ignore.
4. Low Water Pressure from the Hot Tap
If your hot water isn’t flowing as strong as your cold water, that’s a clue.
Over time, sediment or minerals can block the flow inside your unit.
That’s common here in Jacksonville. You might need a good flush to clear things out.
5. It Keeps Turning Off
If your unit turns off while you’re using it—or won’t even start—there’s a problem.
This could be overheating, vent issues, or something electrical.
These are things we see all the time, and we know how to fix them fast.
Why You Shouldn’t Wait
Tankless systems are great, but they still need care.
If you ignore the signs, it could cost more to fix later—or you might end up needing a full replacement.
A simple repair now can save you time, money, and a lot of stress.
